What is the difference between a Canoe and a Kayak?

A canoe is an open boat, the paddler sit on his knees and uses a paddle with just one blade.

The kayak is closed with a open part in the middle. That part can be closed with a waterproof sail. A kayak has a paddle with two blades. Because the kayak is waterproof it is suitable to go on wild water.
